Built in 1780, out of fieldstones and planks, American Vintage Bed and Breakfast has stood the test of time for more than 225 years. American Vintage Bed and Breakfast is one of York County's older working farmhouses left in the area. Over the years the working farm produced wool, rugs, milk, eggs, meats and much more that served the York county community well. The farmhouse is constructed of three to four foot stone walls and beautiful stone fireplaces throughout. The inside, being constructed of chestnut and pine plank walls which are still visible today, add a reflection of how great our carpenters of yesteryears were. American Vintage Bed and Breakfast is a four story building with nine and a half foot ceilings. With little but their hands to work with, it is a wonder how they built such a lovely home. There was no electric, very few tools, no pluming, and no heat. They relied on the sun, the direction of the winds, the lay of the land, the clay from the ground and lots of natural elements found in the earth to build this beautiful home, not to mention lots of physical labor. American Vintage Bed & Breakfast in Stewartstown a part of southern York County is a place were you can appreciate the beauty of life now past. American Vintage Bed & Breakfast has been updated over the years, but special care was taken to preserve the authentic look and charm of the past. The American Vintage Bed & Breakfast enhances the charm of yesteryear with antiques found throughout the home, as well as old-working buildings located on the grounds.
